Name: IBM ThinkPad A30 (26523SG) Driver
Author: IBM

Question 1

Installer fails or exits silently?

Accepted Answer

The ThinkPad A30 (26523SG) uses older Windows 2000/XP-era driver packages. Extract the self-extracting file first, run `setup.exe` as administrator in compatibility mode for the target OS, and reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Install the IBM chipset/INF package first, enable the relevant port or device in BIOS, then rescan in Device Manager. For PCCard, infrared, Ethernet, or modem, confirm the device is seated and not disabled.

Question 3

Version conflicts with generic drivers?

Accepted Answer

Remove or roll back any Windows-supplied driver, then install the matching IBM package. Install in order—chipset, power management, video, audio, network/modem—and avoid mixing IBM and generic driver versions.
