Name: IBM NetVista personal computer (6792DHU) Driver
Author: IBM

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

NetVista 6792DHU driver packages are often 32-bit Windows 2000/XP-era and unsigned. Confirm OS architecture, run the installer as administrator, and use compatibility mode; only disable driver signature enforcement for a trusted IBM package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Onboard audio, Ethernet, or video may be disabled in BIOS. Enable the relevant Integrated Devices option, install the IBM chipset INF first, then rescan Device Manager.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Newer generic Intel or Windows Update drivers can override the IBM package. Uninstall the existing device driver, remove old INF files, reboot, and install the IBM NetVista driver before running Windows Update.
