Question 1

Install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The IBM Infoprint 1000 driver is legacy and may be blocked by driver-signing or compatibility checks. Run the installer as Administrator, try Windows compatibility mode, and confirm the correct 32/64-bit package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Verify printer power and cable, then check the selected port (USB001, LPT1, or network IP). For USB/parallel models, reinstall using “Add Printer” and choose the matching Infoprint 1000 port.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing IBM Infoprint or generic IBM printer driver in Print Management, delete the old driver package, restart the spooler, and reinstall only one matching driver version.
