Question 1

Install fails or shows Code 10/28?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing “Huawei Mobile Connect USB Device” entries in Device Manager, including hidden devices, reboot, then run the Huawei driver installer as administrator.

Question 2

Device not detected/COM6 missing?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB 2.0 port, reinsert the modem, and check Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT). If it appears as storage/CD-ROM, install the Huawei PC UI/dashboard package so the modem/COM interface is enabled.

Question 3

COM6 conflict or version mismatch?

Accepted Answer

If COM6 is already assigned, open Port Settings > Advanced and choose a free COM port. Remove older Huawei Dashboard/driver packages before installing a newer version to avoid mixed driver files.
