Name: Huawei Mobile Broadband Modem Driver
Author: Huawei

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Huawei driver installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and disconnect other Huawei modems. If Windows blocks the driver, install the package matching your modem model and reboot before reconnecting.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or missing COM/Mobile Broadband entries. Try another USB port/cable, remove any hub, and reinstall the driver while the modem is connected. For HiLink modems, confirm the device is not stuck in storage/CD-ROM mode.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Huawei Mobile Broadband, HiLink, and modem drivers from Programs and Device Manager, restart, then install only the latest package for your model. Disable Windows automatic driver replacement temporarily if it keeps overwriting the Huawei driver.
