Author: HTC

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the HTC package as administrator, disconnect the modem during setup, and remove any older HTC USB Modem entry in Device Manager (View > Show hidden devices) before reinstalling. Verify the package matches your Windows version and architecture.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB 2.0 port and a known-good data cable; avoid hubs. In Device Manager, check for an unknown device or a modem/COM port under Ports. Reconnect the modem and let Windows bind the HTC USB Modem driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall HTC Sync or other modem drivers that may claim the device, delete the old driver package, then rescan hardware. Confirm the installed HTC USB Modem driver version matches the download.
