Question 1

Driver install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the HTC driver installer as administrator. On Windows 10/11, set compatibility to Windows 7 and reboot before retrying. If Windows blocks the older unsigned driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement.

Question 2

HTC Desire 310 not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use the original USB cable and a direct rear USB port. On the phone, enable USB debugging and set the USB connection to MTP or PTP. Check Device Manager for an unknown “Android” or “ADB” device.

Question 3

Version conflicts with old HTC software?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall HTC Sync Manager and any previous HTC USB drivers. In Device Manager, remove the phone and delete its driver, reboot, then install the current driver before reconnecting the Desire 310.
