Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and confirm it matches your Windows version and 32/64-bit architecture. If setup still fails, update the driver manually via Device Manager using the INF file.

Question 2

Adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI/PCIe card or try another USB port for USB models. Check Device Manager for “Unknown Device,” then install the Ralink driver before enabling the wireless service.

Question 3

Version conflicts or dropped connections?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Ralink and other wireless drivers, select “Delete driver software,” reboot, then install only the latest compatible package. Prevent Windows Update from replacing it if the issue returns.
