Author: Honestech

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Honestech setup as administrator in Windows compatibility mode, temporarily disable antivirus, and reboot before plugging in the USB capture device.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the VHS-to-DVD capture device directly to a USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for unknown devices, then reinstall the driver with the device unplugged and plug it in only when prompted.

Question 3

Driver/software version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Honestech drivers and capture software, remove hidden USB devices in Device Manager, reboot, and install the driver version matching your VHS to DVD 3.0 SE package. Avoid generic USB video drivers.
