Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GT80N ATA Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Install fails or Device Manager shows a yellow warning?

Accepted Answer

Windows usually supplies the correct CD/DVD driver (`cdrom.sys`). Do not force an LG firmware/package as a driver. Uninstall the device in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows reinstall it.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm the GT80N appears in BIOS. In Windows, use Device Manager > Action > Scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version/filter-driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Third-party virtual-drive or burning tools can conflict with the optical drive. Uninstall them, roll back the driver in Device Manager, and avoid installing generic “DVD driver” packages.
