Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, confirm the drive appears in BIOS/UEFI, then in Device Manager use Scan for hardware changes. If listed with an error, uninstall the device and restart Windows so the native optical driver reloads.

Question 2

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the LG package as administrator and in compatibility mode for your Windows version. Temporarily disable antivirus, and avoid installing if Windows already provides a working generic DVD/BD driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove any older LG or third-party optical driver in Device Manager before installing the correct package. Match the driver/firmware to the GT51N and your Windows build; do not mix generic Windows drivers with vendor firmware updates.
