Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GT32N ATA Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Install fails or shows Code 39/19?

Accepted Answer

This DVD-RAM drive uses Windows’ built-in optical driver. Avoid third-party driver updaters. In Device Manager, uninstall the device without deleting the driver, restart, and let Windows reinstall it.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data/power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm BIOS/UEFI lists “HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT32N.” If BIOS cannot see it, the issue is hardware/firmware, not a Windows driver.

Question 3

Version or filter conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall recently added burning software or virtual-drive tools that add optical filters. Use Device Manager rollback if available, and update firmware only from your PC maker for the exact OEM model.
