Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GP08LU30 USB Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Driver install fails or loops?

Accepted Answer

Windows usually supplies the correct optical-drive driver, so avoid third-party “driver updater” packages. In Device Manager, uninstall the HL DT ST DVDRAM GP08LU30 entry, unplug the USB cable, then reconnect and let Windows reinstall it.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port, preferably directly on the PC rather than a hub. Use the supplied USB/power cable, check Device Manager for “Optical drives,” and run “Scan for hardware changes.” Insufficient USB power is common with this portable drive.

Question 3

Version/filter-driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old LG driver or burning-suite filter drivers if the drive disappears or fails to burn. Roll back the device driver in Device Manager, reboot, and only update firmware from LG if the drive is otherwise working.
