Author: LG

Question 1

Install fails or shows Code 10/28/39?

Accepted Answer

Remove the existing DVD/CD-ROM entry in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows install its in-box optical drive driver. Avoid forcing old LG installers on Windows 10/11; check the ATA/ATAPI controller for errors.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm SATA/IDE data and power connections, verify the GH70N appears in BIOS, and check Disk Management for a missing drive letter. Match BIOS SATA mode to the original installation; reseat the drive if needed.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts or read/burn errors?

Accepted Answer

Roll back to the Microsoft generic CD/DVD driver, remove third-party driver updaters, and update firmware only with the exact LG GH70N package. Try different DVD-RAM media and lower burn speed.
