Name: HL DT ST DVD RAM GSA H55N ATA Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Firmware/driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

close burning apps, remove any disc, run the LG updater as administrator, and connect the GSA-H55N directly to SATA—not a USB adapter.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

confirm BIOS lists the DVD-RAM drive, reseat SATA data/power, try another SATA port, and check Device Manager for Code 10/39; remove corrupted optical UpperFilters/LowerFilters only after backing up the registry.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

don’t force an old LG package over Windows’ native cdrom.sys; uninstall the device, reboot to let Windows reinstall it, and update motherboard chipset/SATA drivers.
