The NEC INF may be too old for current Windows. Run the setup as administrator in compatibility mode, or use Device Manager > Monitors > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > Have Disk and point to the extracted NEC INF.

Question 2

Monitor not detected / shows as Generic PnP Monitor?

Check the VGA/DVI cable and selected input on the LCD1970NXP, reseat the cable, then use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes. If EDID is not read, try another cable or port.

Version conflict after Windows Update?

Accepted Answer

In Device Manager > Monitor > Properties > Driver, use Roll Back Driver, or uninstall the generic monitor driver and rescan. Reinstall the NEC driver if Windows replaces it again.
