Author: NEC

Question 1

Install fails or “no compatible driver” appears?

Accepted Answer

NEC monitor packages are often INF-based, not setup EXEs. Extract the download, open Device Manager > Monitors > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > Have Disk, and point to the LCD1770NX .inf. Run as administrator; avoid blocked old installers.

Question 2

Device not detected or shows Generic PnP Monitor?

Accepted Answer

Check VGA/DVI cable seating and the input selected in the monitor OSD. Power-cycle the monitor, rescan hardware, and test without adapters. If EDID is not read, install the NEC INF manually or check Windows Update optional monitor driver.

Question 3

Version/resolution conflicts after updating?

Accepted Answer

Remove old NEC/Generic monitor entries in Device Manager (View > Show hidden devices), reboot, then reinstall. Set native 1280×1024 at 60 Hz; avoid forced unsupported modes or duplicate monitor profiles.
