Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the Muratec F 520, run the driver installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, remove old Muratec scanner entries in Device Manager, reboot, then reinstall the correct 32/64-bit package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power-cycle the scanner, connect it directly to a USB 2.0 port (avoid hubs), check Device Manager under Imaging devices, and run the Windows hardware troubleshooter. Confirm the F 520 is not in sleep mode.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing Muratec F 520/WIA/TWAIN driver, reboot, remove leftover driver packages with `pnputil /delete-driver oem#.inf /uninstall`, then install the latest Muratec driver to prevent Windows Update from replacing it.
