Name: MT65xx Preloader Driver
Author: MediaTek

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Windows may block the MT65xx Preloader driver due to signature enforcement or a missing INF. Temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall the MediaTek VCOM/preloader driver and reboot.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

The preloader port appears only briefly. Power off the phone, remove the battery if possible, connect USB, and install/check the driver in Device Manager immediately while in preloader mode. Try another USB port/cable.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Old MediaTek VCOM or preloader drivers can conflict. Uninstall existing MediaTek USB drivers, delete leftover driver entries, reboot, and install one compatible driver version before using SP Flash Tool.
