Author: Motorola

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the SYN0717A, run the installer as administrator, remove older Symbol/Motorola/Zebra scanner drivers, reboot, then reconnect and install. Confirm the driver matches your 32/64-bit Windows version.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port and cable, avoid unpowered hubs, and check Device Manager. For this barcode scanner, verify it is in USB HID keyboard mode; if it shows as an unknown device, rescan hardware.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate entries?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Symbol/Motorola/Zebra USB or virtual COM drivers, remove duplicate Device Manager entries, and keep only one driver version installed. Reboot before testing scan input.
