The M Audio Xponent is a DJ controller with an integrated audio interface, designed to combine hands-on mixing controls with computer-based playback. Its M-Audio driver helps Windows recognize the hardware and enables compatible DJ software to access its audio connections and controller functions.

Key Features

  • Audio interface support: Allows compatible applications to use the Xponent’s built-in audio hardware for playback and monitoring.
  • Responsive audio performance: Provides the driver-level support needed to configure audio buffering in supported software, helping balance latency against playback stability.
  • Controller communication: Supports communication between the Xponent and your computer so compatible DJ applications can receive input from its performance controls.
  • Application configuration: Makes the device available for selection in supported audio software. Control mappings and available settings depend on the application you use.

How to Install

  1. Check the driver’s compatibility. Before downloading, confirm that the package explicitly supports your Windows version and system architecture. For Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, check the individual package notes rather than assuming one installer works across all four versions.
  1. Prepare your computer. Close DJ applications and other programs using audio devices. If you are replacing an existing Xponent driver, follow the package instructions for removing the older version. Keep the controller disconnected until the installer tells you to connect it.
  1. Run the installer. Extract the downloaded archive if necessary, then open the setup file. Allow Windows to make changes when prompted and follow the installation instructions. Do not bypass security warnings for an unsigned or unverified package.
  1. Connect the Xponent. Restart Windows if requested, connect the controller directly to a USB port, and ensure it is powered on. Give Windows time to finish detecting the device before launching your DJ software.
  1. Configure and test your software. Select the Xponent as the audio device and enable its controller profile or mapping where available. Check master playback, headphone monitoring, and basic controls. If playback crackles or drops out, try a larger audio buffer and test again.

A successful driver installation does not automatically configure every DJ application. If audio works but the controls do not respond, review the software’s controller settings and confirm that it supports the Xponent.
