The Line 6 TonePort UX2 is a USB audio interface for recording instruments and microphones on a Windows PC. Its driver enables communication between the interface and your recording software, making the UX2’s audio inputs and outputs available for recording and playback. For Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, check that the selected driver package explicitly supports your operating system before installing.
Key Features
- USB audio connectivity: Allows Windows and compatible audio applications to recognize the TonePort UX2 as an audio input and output device.
- Low-latency recording support: Provides ASIO connectivity for compatible recording software, with buffer settings that help balance responsiveness and playback stability.
- Input and output access: Makes the interface’s recording channels and playback outputs available to your audio software for microphone, instrument, and monitoring tasks.
- Audio configuration: Supports adjustment of available driver settings so you can match the interface’s operation to your recording session. Available options depend on the driver version and application.
How to Install
- Confirm compatibility. Check your Windows version and system architecture, then choose a Line 6 driver package that lists the TonePort UX2 and your specific operating system. Do not assume an older package supports Windows 11 simply because it works on Windows 10.
- Prepare your computer. Close recording programs and other applications using audio. Keep the interface disconnected unless the installer’s instructions say otherwise.
- Run the installer. Open the downloaded setup file, approve the Windows permission prompt, and follow the on-screen instructions. Connect the UX2 when requested, or after installation if directed.
- Complete device detection. Restart Windows if prompted, then connect the interface directly to a USB port on the computer. Allow Windows to finish recognizing the device before opening your recording software.
- Select and test the interface. Choose the Line 6 TonePort UX2 in your application’s audio settings and select its ASIO driver where available. Test recording and playback at a low monitoring volume, adjusting the buffer size if you hear clicks or dropouts.
The hardware driver does not necessarily include recording software, amp models, or related licenses. If your workflow requires additional Line 6 applications, check their compatibility separately.
