Name: Hauppauge WinTV USB (NTSC) Driver
Author: Hauppauge

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Hauppauge/WinTV setup as Administrator, disconnect the USB tuner until prompted, and temporarily disable antivirus. Use the driver package that matches your Windows version and architecture.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the WinTV USB directly into a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for unknown/USB devices, then reinstall the driver. Confirm the tuner is connected and recognized before opening WinTV.

Question 3

Version conflicts or “tuner not found”?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old WinTV software and Hauppauge drivers first, reboot, then install one matching driver/WinTV package. Avoid mixing 32-bit/64-bit or legacy MCE drivers, and set the NTSC region correctly in WinTV.
