Installer fails or rolls back?

Run the Hauppauge/WinTV setup as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and remove any older WinTV or HVR-1800 driver entries before rebooting and retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check that the HVR-1800 card is fully seated in its PCIe slot, rescan Device Manager for an unknown multimedia controller, and try another slot if needed; confirm antenna/cable input and selected tuner type.

Driver/WinTV version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old WinTV and tuner drivers, reboot, then install a matching Windows-architecture driver and WinTV build; avoid mixing beta, 32-bit, or mismatched driver packages.
