Author: Icon7

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Icon7 hardware.ini installer as administrator, unblock the downloaded package if Windows marks it unsafe, and temporarily disable antivirus. Confirm the package matches your Windows version/architecture before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected after install?

Accepted Answer

Open Device Manager, scan for hardware changes, and check for Unknown device/Icon7 entries. Reconnect the device to a direct USB port, then update the driver by selecting the extracted hardware.ini folder manually.

Question 3

Version conflicts/old driver persists?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing Icon7 driver from Device Manager and Programs and Features, reboot, then install the new hardware.ini package. Do not mix extracted INF/INI files from different versions; remove stale copies first.
