Question 1

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

This USB MSDC disk normally uses Windows’ built-in USB Mass Storage driver. If a downloaded package fails, check it matches your Windows version and architecture, and avoid forcing an unsigned or generic driver. Use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > USB Mass Storage Device.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port, preferably directly on the PC, and replace the cable. Check Disk Management and Device Manager for Unknown Device/USB Mass Storage Device; uninstall the entry, reconnect, and rescan.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

If Windows assigns a vendor-specific or outdated driver, roll it back or uninstall it in Device Manager, then reconnect so Windows reloads the in-box mass-storage driver. Do not install unrelated chipset or storage packages.
