The Fluke 753 754 (COM16) driver enables Windows to recognize the connected instrument and provides a communication interface for compatible software. If your Fluke 753 or 754 is missing from an application or appears as an unrecognized device, installing the appropriate driver may help restore the connection.
Key Features
- Device recognition: Helps Windows identify the Fluke 753/754 interface rather than leaving it listed as an unknown device.
- Serial communication support: Provides the COM-port connection that compatible applications use to communicate with the instrument. COM16 is the assigned port in this device listing; your computer may assign a different number.
- Software connectivity: Supports communication between the connected hardware and compatible calibration or data-management software. Available functions depend on the instrument and application.
- Windows compatibility: Intended for use with Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7 when the correct driver package is selected for the operating system and system architecture.
How to Install
- Check your Windows version. Confirm whether your PC runs Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, and check whether it uses a 32-bit or 64-bit system. Select a driver package that explicitly supports your configuration.
- Download and extract the driver. Save the appropriate Fluke 753/754 driver package to an accessible folder. If it arrives as a compressed archive, extract it before starting installation. Review any included instructions for connection requirements.
- Install the package. Run the supplied installer, if available, and follow its prompts. If the package contains driver files without an installer, open Device Manager, locate the instrument or unknown device, choose Update driver, and browse to the extracted folder.
- Connect and verify the instrument. Power on the device and connect it using the appropriate communication cable. In Device Manager, check that it appears without a warning symbol and note its assigned COM port.
- Configure your application. Open compatible software and select the port shown in Device Manager—COM16 only if that is the current assignment. Test the connection before transferring data. If communication fails, check the cable, confirm the port selection, and close other applications that might be using the same port.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or exits early: Run the Fluke driver installer as administrator, match 32/64-bit Windows, and close FlukeView Forms/DPCTrack before installing.
- 753/754 not detected / no COM port: Power on the calibrator, use a known-good USB cable, and check Device Manager under Ports. If COM16 is already used, reassign the Fluke 753/754 to an unused COM port via Port Properties > Advanced.
- Version conflicts / software can’t connect: Uninstall older Fluke USB-serial drivers and related Fluke software, reboot, reinstall the current driver, then reconnect the 754. Confirm the software’s COM port matches Device Manager and avoid sharing that port with other instruments.
