The ELMO UVC Camera driver helps Windows recognize your camera and make its video feed available to compatible applications. If the camera is missing from your software or is not detected correctly, checking the driver is a useful troubleshooting step on Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7.

Key Features

  • Camera recognition: Provides the connection Windows needs to identify the ELMO UVC Camera and expose its supported video functions.
  • UVC support: Uses USB Video Class functionality for communication between the camera and the operating system. Depending on the model and Windows version, a built-in Windows driver may be sufficient.
  • Application access: Allows compatible video capture, presentation, and conferencing software to access the camera feed.
  • Supported camera settings: Makes available the controls supported by the hardware and application, such as resolution or exposure. Available options vary by model.

How to Install

  1. Confirm your camera and Windows version. Check the ELMO model label and verify whether your computer runs Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7. If a separate driver package is required, choose one that matches your model, Windows version, and system architecture.
  2. Connect the camera. Use a suitable USB cable and connect directly to the computer where possible. Turn on the camera if required, then allow Windows time to detect it and install a compatible driver automatically.
  3. Install a separate driver only if needed. If Windows does not set up the camera correctly, download the appropriate ELMO driver package from a trusted source. Extract it if necessary, run the installer, and follow its instructions. Avoid forcing a package intended for another model.
  4. Check Device Manager. Look under Cameras, Imaging devices, or Other devices. If the camera has a warning icon and the downloaded package contains driver files rather than an installer, select Update driver, choose Browse my computer for drivers, and point Windows to the extracted folder.
  5. Test the video feed. Restart if prompted, then open a compatible camera application and select the ELMO UVC Camera as the video source. If no image appears, check camera permissions where available, close other applications using the camera, and try another USB port.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Install fails or driver won’t bind: Windows may already be using the built-in USB Video Class driver. Uninstall any old ELMO/third-party camera driver, disconnect the camera, reboot, then reconnect and let Windows reinstall the UVC driver.
  • Device not detected: Try a direct rear USB port and a known data-capable cable. In Device Manager, check under Cameras/Imaging devices and scan for hardware changes. Also verify Windows camera privacy access is enabled for your app.
  • Version conflicts or app can’t see camera: Remove duplicate/legacy ELMO software and old driver entries, then install the matching driver package for your Windows version. If needed, roll back the driver in Device Manager and reconnect the camera.
